About
Description

Cal Harvest Marketing, Inc. was formed in 1988 as a partnership between Fagundes Agribusiness (in Hanford, CA) and Kiwi Harvest (in Auckland, N.Z.). This joint venture was to facilitate the marketing of both firms' fruit in North America and to export North American fruit to other parts of the world. The majority of this fruit was kiwifruit, but they also shipped grapes, tree fruit, apples, strawberries, raspberies and squash. In 1990, Kiwi Harvest was purchased by Chiquita Brands, Cincinatti, OH. This purchase changed the ownership of Cal Harvest to a partnership between Fagundes and Chiquita. Fagundes Agribusiness became the sole owner of Cal Harvest in 1993, after purchasing Chiquita's interest. Since that time, Cal Harvest has concentrated on marketing fresh fruit and vegetables in North and South America and the Pacific Rim. The fruit includes peaches, plums, nectarines, kiwifruit, apples, grapes, citrus, honeydew, cherries, and strawberries. Broccoli is the main vegetable that Cal Harvest exports, but celery, cabbage and lettuce are also shipped to other countries. Cal Harvest's philosophy is "always ship the best product at the best possible price".
