About
Description

The story of Ayamas began in 1982 when it started its original plant in Kuchai Lama, Selangor. Then it was known as KFC Food Processing Sdn Bhd and its primary function was to supply quality, nine-piece cut chicken and chicken based products to all Malaysian KFC outlets. The remaining products from the processing plant were sold on the open market. This complemented the output of its processing plant and in 1988 Ayamas extended its business to retailing with formation of Ayamas Convenience Stores Sdn Bhd (now known as Kedai Ayamas Sdn Bhd operating Kedai Ayamas stores) and Rasa Gourmet Sdn Bhd in 1996 (now known as Rasa Ayamas Sdn Bhd operating RasaMas Restaurants). In 1987, the construction of Ayamas Port Klang plant began, and it was fully operational a year later. On November 19, 1993, the company changed its name to Ayamas Food Corporation Sdn Bhd. About a month later, it became a public limited company and was renamed Ayamas Food Corporation Berhad. The company signed an underwriting agreement for the public issue of shares in late 1994, and was listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on November 3, of the same year. However, in 2004 after a corporate restructuring exercise, Ayamas Food Corporation Bhd was renamed to Ayamas Food Corporation Sdn Bhd.
